Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond (WROC) is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for West Highland White Terriers, to help control the animal population by spaying and neutering our dogs before they are placed in permanent homes, and to provide the public with education about our breed and its needs. WROC is run entirely by volunteers, rescuing stray animals from shelters that have not been adopted, reclaimed by their owners, or abandoned. Our rescues are cared for in private homes where they receive medical care and rehabilitation.

We here at Shadalane breed for excellence. Our lives are dedicated to providing the best training possible for our Golden Retrievers. With a safe environment to promote growth and socialization, our dogs are offered the best of the best from day one. We breed to produce structure, beauty, brains and temperament, in a limited breeding program. The help of many successful breeders has allowed us success in improving our breeding program with knowledge that has been passed down decades ago. We are eager to share what we know to those who are serious in giving a wonderful golden the best home possible.

My husband and I love to take our dog to Ocean Beach. It's San Diego’s only 24 hour beach for dogs where our dog is permitted to run and play without a leash at all hours of the day. We went a couple of days ago and I laughed watching the dogs interact without their leashes. They were all happy. There were no fights, no signs of aggressions. Just dogs running everywhere, chasing, jumping and wrestling with other dogs. They all played and shared the same ball and they all seemed, for as long as they were at the beach, to forget to be protective, territorial or possessive. They knew that they had arrived at "Doggie Heaven".
